Unlike other forms of coffee beverage, Turkish Coffee is brewed in a unique pot known as the cezve. But why should you use a cezev rather than your regular coffee pot? How Long Does It Take Turkish Coffee To Brew?

The Turkish coffee will be quite strong and intense, so you might want to add as much sugar or honey as desired before drinking the brew for a more enjoyable taste. What Do You Need To Brew Turkish Coffee?
You may not have guessed it, but the secret to making a good Turkish coffee is all in your grinder. If you’re using an at-home burr grinder set it on its finest setting and then go for gold! Alternatively, if you don’t want that extra step of grinding beans before brewing up some joe just buy finely ground Middle Eastern or Mediterranean coffee from any nearby supermarket.

Once you have the ingredients, it is time to start the brew. For brewing Turkish Coffee, you should always use cold, filtered water. If you are not sure how much water you should add, measure using the coffee mug you plan to use. If you want to brew only one cup as a trial, take only one mug of water. As far as the coffee to water ratio is concerned, you should try and stick to 1 and a half cups of water per 1 cup of coffee. Take the water and coffee ground in your cezve, and put them on the stove. The standard time required to brew Turkish coffee is around 4-5 minutes. Turkish Coffee Serving
The serving of the Turkish Coffee is plain. Traditional ways of serving this type of coffee are with sugar. Now, here comes the tricky part. According to the sugar preferences of your guests, you might have to adjust your recipe.
The best way to brew Turkish coffee is to add the sugar while the coffee pot is still on the stove. This ensures the sugar gets completely infused with the coffee mix. However, you might be preparing Turkish coffee for someone who does not like sugar with his coffee. But, you, on the other hand, can’t consume coffee without sugar. In that case, the best practice is to brew the coffee without any sugar. After serving for the guest who doesn’t like sugar, you can put the coffee pot back on the stove and add two tablespoons of sugar to the pot while it is still blooming.
Another tradition of Turkish Coffee is not to serve it with foam on top. As soon as the coffee starts to form a foam on top, take it off the stove. Take a spoon, and scoop up some foam for each of the coffee mugs. After you are done transferring the foam to the coffee mugs, place the coffee pot back on the stove. Let the coffee mugs boil for 10-15 seconds max before pouring them into the mugs.
Turkish coffee is served in small amounts. This is why you should always brew some extra so that if someone asks for a refill, you can deliver on that. You can add dairy products such as milk froth or milk cream to your Turkish Coffee. However, in Turkey, people like their coffee raw. They do not add milk to their coffee.
