For this recipe, we are going to use pumpkin pie spice. You can find this at any supermarket or prepare it at home. As far as sweeteners are concerned, you can use brown sugar, coconut sugar, or simply granulated sugar that you have lying around at your home. There is no hard-bound rule as to how much sugar you should add to the recipe. You should experiment and pick the amount that best suits your preferences.
To enhance the overall flavor of the final brew, we are going to use vanilla extract. If you are intolerant to dairy products, you can opt for different nondairy products, for example, Oat milk or Soy milk.
Take a regular frying pan, and pour milk, pumpkin puree, pumpkin spice, and heavy whipped cream into it. Put the flame on medium heat, and keep the pan on the stove until the sugar gets completely dissolved in the mixture.
You should make sure you are not boiling this mixture. Take the pan off the stove as soon as the mixture reaches the boiling point. Take the pan off the stove, and add some vanilla extract to the mixture. Take a spoon and mix it well.
Now, take a fine mesh strainer, and strain the mixture into a separate pot. Take the pot and store it in the freezer for roughly 5-6 hours. After the mixture has cooled down, take a milk frother wand and froth the mixture until it reaches a foam-like consistency.
Pumpkin Spice Latte Serving
You should serve the Pumpkin Pie Latte in a large mug. You might want to put it in the freezer hours before starting the recipe. Once the mug is chilled, take some ice cubes, and pour them inside. Now, bring out the cold brew coffee, and fill up the mug until only a quarter of the mug is empty.
A decisive factor that influences how the final brew will taste is the quality of the whipped cream you use with the brew. Try and use heavy whipped cream with this recipe. It will make your final brew taste much better.
If you are not into vegetables, or if you are not in the mood to drink a pumpkin-flavored beverage, you can serve the final brew without pumpkin at all. Instead of adding pumpkin puree to the mixture, add some whipped cream to the brew, and you will still have a great tasting coffee brew.
If you want to serve the brew with pumpkin foam, prepare the foam at home, and store it in the refrigerator before use. But make sure you are not using pumpkin foam that is older than two days. To ensure the best experience, you should always use fresh ingredients as much as you can.
As mentioned above, you can use pumpkin puree instead of fresh pumpkin out of the garden for the recipe. But if you want, instead of getting pumpkin puree from the market, you can prepare your own at home. The average roasting time for making pumpkin puree at home only requires 30-45 minutes. After you are done making the pumpkin puree, you can store it in the freezer for months.
