A fusion of ancient Turkish coffee brewing with modern waffle-making, featuring traditional spiced coffee infused with Aleppo pepper and cardamom. The concentrated Turkish coffee is incorporated into crispy waffles, creating a unique breakfast that honors Ottoman coffee culture while delivering an unexpected spicy-sweet experience.

Prepare Turkish Coffee

  1. Grind coffee beans to powder-fine consistency
  2. Add cold water, coffee, Aleppo pepper, cardamom, and sugar to cezve
  3. Stir mixture thoroughly and place on low heat
  4. Heat slowly, stirring occasionally until foam begins to form
  5. Remove from heat when foam rises, let settle, repeat 2-3 times
  6. Allow coffee to cool completely (20 minutes)

Make Waffle Batter

  1. Whisk flour and baking powder in large bowl
  2. In separate bowl, beat eggs, add milk, melted butter, vanilla
  3. Strain cooled Turkish coffee to remove grounds, reserve 120ml
  4. Add strained coffee to wet ingredients
  5. Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed

Cook Waffles

  1. Preheat waffle iron to medium-high
  2. Pour batter into waffle iron, cook 3-4 minutes until golden
  3. Serve immediately with honey or Turkish delight
