A comforting breakfast-inspired coffee drink that combines rich mocha flavors with creamy oatmeal texture and natural honey sweetness. This nourishing beverage blends smooth coffee with oat milk, cocoa, and honey for a wholesome yet indulgent morning treat that tastes like liquid oatmeal cookies.

Coffee Preparation

  1. Add coarse ground coffee to French press
  2. Pour 200°F water over grounds and stir gently
  3. Steep for 4 minutes, then press plunger down slowly
  4. Keep coffee warm while preparing oatmeal base

Oatmeal Base

  1. In small saucepan, combine rolled oats with oat milk
  2. Cook over medium heat for 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently
  3. Whisk in cocoa powder until smooth
  4. Add honey, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt
  5. Continue cooking until creamy and slightly thickened
  6. Remove from heat and let cool for 1 minute

Assembly

  1. Pour warm oatmeal mixture into large mug
  2. Slowly add hot French press coffee, stirring gently
  3. The mixture should be smooth and well combined
  4. Top with whipped cream
  5. Sprinkle with reserved oats and extra cinnamon
