Buy it if

  • Households wanting hot drip and fast cold brew from one 12-cup machine, without pods.

Skip it if

  • Glass carafe on a warming element rather than an insulated thermal one.

The CM371 is Ninja’s do-everything drip machine: a 12-cup hot coffee maker that also produces cold brew in about 10 minutes instead of the usual overnight steep, with single-serve and travel-mug sizing built in and no pods required anywhere in the process.

Rapid cold brew, on Ninja’s own clock

Traditional cold brew is steeped for 12 to 24 hours because cold water extracts slowly. Ninja’s claim for the CM371 is a finished cold brew in as little as 10 minutes through its dedicated Cold Brew setting. That is the headline feature and the reason to choose this machine over a plain drip maker, but it is Ninja’s own marketing figure — we did not find independent lab testing measuring extraction quality or comparing the result side by side against a traditional overnight steep.

Eight sizes, four styles, one machine

Beyond cold brew, the CM371 brews Classic, Rich and Over Ice styles, and scales from a small single cup through an XL travel-mug size up to a full 12-cup carafe, including quarter- and half-carafe options. It ships with a permanent filter, so paper filters are optional rather than required, and Ninja sells a separate removable filter holder for anyone who prefers paper anyway. It draws 1,550W on a 120V, 13A circuit — meaningfully more than a basic 900-1000W drip machine, which tracks with heating water fast enough across that many sizes and styles from a single unit.

The carafe is glass, and that matters more than it sounds

The included carafe is glass, kept hot by a warming plate underneath it rather than being a double-walled thermal vessel. Glass-on-hotplate is the traditional drip-maker approach and it works, but coffee left sitting on a warming plate keeps cooking and its flavor degrades the longer it sits — the tradeoff every hotplate machine makes. Ninja sells a Glass Carafe with Brew-Through Lid as an accessory, but that is still glass, not insulated steel. If you want a full pot to taste right two hours after brewing, this is not that machine; you would be looking at a thermal-carafe model instead.

Scheduling and everyday footprint

The CM371 includes 24-hour delay brew, so it can be set up the night before, and it is on the larger side for a drip machine at roughly 14.25in deep, 11.14in wide and 17.4in tall — the height accommodates the single-serve and travel-mug brewing positions underneath the spout. At just over 11 lbs, it is not a machine most people will want to move around the counter often.

Before you buy

  • Decide whether Ninja’s roughly 10-minute cold brew time matters to you compared with a traditional overnight steep, since no independent extraction testing confirms it matches steeped quality.
  • Check counter clearance against the 17.4in height — the travel-mug and single-serve brewing positions need room above the machine.
  • Budget separately for the Glass Carafe with Brew-Through Lid if you want to brew straight into a travel-ready vessel; it is not included.
  • If you routinely let a pot sit for more than an hour, weigh the glass-and-hotplate carafe against a thermal-carafe alternative before buying.
