Method
Grind coffee : Grind coffee beans to extra coarse consistency (like breadcrumbs).
Mix dry ingredients : In a large jar or cold brew maker, combine ground coffee, chaga mushroom powder, and sea salt. Stir to distribute evenly.
Add water : Pour room temperature filtered water over the coffee mixture, ensuring all grounds are saturated.
Initial stir : Stir gently with a wooden spoon to ensure even saturation.
Steep : Cover and let steep at room temperature for 12 hours, or refrigerate for up to 18 hours for stronger flavor.
Strain : Strain through a fine-mesh sieve lined with cheesecloth or coffee filter. Strain twice for clearest result.
Add sweeteners : Stir in maple syrup and vanilla extract until well combined.
Serve : Pour over ice and enjoy. Dilute with water or milk if desired.
